![]() This week's newsletter is in honor of a very dear friend of mine. I've known this beautiful woman for over half of my life. She's family and I have nothing, but love and admiration for her. She is the eternal optimist; you know, the one that would wake up on a girl's weekend at sunrise bouncing around from bed to bed singing the "wake up, wake up" song after a night of cocktails and late night shenanigans. Always the one to check you for negative self talk and encourage you to use words that are inspiring and kind to your body. She believes that love and kindness are magical super powers and she's always there to cheer you on. She is a scientist and a homeschool teacher. She's a mother and a gardener who manages a yard full of herbs and vegetables and trees all budding happily around her home. She's an advocate for the environment and the one who always makes homegrown organic hippy shit that you're never too sure about until you try it and then you're like, "wow, that really doesn't have any dairy or sugar or gluten in it." Laughing, but so true. She is smart and funny and creative and full of joy. Literally, a ray of sunshine. Yep, that's Julie Cassetta right there; the author of Magical Mia: Kindness is Contagious. She's been secretly writing this book because you know, if she had told any of us girls then she would have been held accountable, right?? So instead, she just randomly shares on a group text, "Hey ladies, I just published my first children's book." What? You did? Of course you did. Julie's daughter who is also a ray of sunshine (apple doesn't fall from the tree) was the inspiration; yearning to instill confidence, courage, and a sense of empowerment in her daughter and other young children. Magical Mia - Kindness is Contagious, empowers children to use their kind words and actions to spread joy and happiness wherever they go. I got all the feels when I read it for the first time. We need more messaging like this for our young children. I'm so proud of this woman and I hope you go to Amazon right now and buy her book. Whether you're a grandparent or a parent or an aunt or a uncle or a teacher, I'm sure you know somebody in your life who could benefit from a little kindness. I'm so proud of you Julie Cassetta.
