When our hearts and minds are open we are aligned with the source of our existence yet how do we do this when there's so much turmoil in the world?
It's hard to watch the news or scroll through social media with an open mind. We are triggered by the injustices, the control and manipulation, the racial biases, inequality and ignorance.
It's a dog eat dog world; mindset against mindset and we blame and disassociate. We defend our positions and exert our will. We avoid conflict and ignore the heart of the problem.
The unwillingness to own our shit; to look within and do the work we need to do in order to heal and be better human beings.
We need to look at yourselves and we can't do that when our hearts are void of emotion and our thoughts are stuck on auto pilot.
Yoga and meditation helps the mind settle so that we can see through a different lens and have a fresh perspective that's perhaps more aligned with our truth and less attached to the patterns we play out in our day to day lives.
When we love and I mean truly love, we begin to heal and see the world differently, but we cannot love without letting go of our rigid belief systems and defensive reasoning. The ego rules humanity, but we're better than that. What would it be like if we all softened and looked at one another like sisters and brothers; like souls and vibrational beings?
The world would shine brighter I'll tell you that much. I use to think love could change someone; make them better, but that's not true. You have to love yourself. Nobody can do that for you.
I found a pure raw unconditional love within myself and it healed my heart, but it didn't come easy. It took a willingness and a commitment to come home; to breathe consciously ... to roll out the mat and practice ... to sit in meditation and be with everything that came up.
I do believe that love can heal the world. You just have to open your heart.
